"And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased"
The war drags on. The daily threat of rocket strikes or shelling hangs over the nation like an invisible cloud; graveyards fill with young bodies - the story of their short lives now written. For those serving the communities as pastors, chaplains and frontline workers this has been a gruelling 18 months.
Continuing to give time, energy, resources with no thought for themselves, these servants are part of God's answer to this bleak situation. We believe God wants us to offer a small oasis of refreshment for some of these precious people, so we are organising a conference named: He Restores my Soul. From 4 - 7 October 2023 in a hotel in the city of Rivne a number of pastors, spouses and frontline workers will be treated to a break. Good food, pleasant surroundings and facilities, plus an atmosphere of worship, the presence of Jesus and some ministry to the wounded soul. It will be entirely free of charge to them.

We are still regularly sending teams and individuals to Ukraine from Prayerhouse to ship aid and bring spiritual support and encouragement. We estimate that at least £47,000 has already been given through Prayerhouse, and Mark Wade on our behalf, to churches and Christian initiatives on the ground across the nation of Ukraine.
Thanks to the work of Mark Wade, and your generosity, we now have connections from the western cities of Chernitsvi and Uzhorod, to Rivne, Kyiv, Krivvi Rih, Sloviansk and Toretsk (and many others). We are eagerly waiting for the liberation of occupied towns and cities so that we can be part of the effort to rebuild and restore.
Mark Wade and REMAR SOS
Mark is a friend of the Prayerhouse and has served the people of Eastern Europe for the past 12 years. He lives in Romania and has a rented home in Mukachevo, Ukraine. Prior to the invasion Mark had made regular trips to the east of Ukraine, bringing much needed support to the areas stricken by the separatist conflict and as a result had developed many connections in the region.
Mark also had a long-standing connection with the organisation, REMAR SOS, through his work in Lesvos. Because of this relationship we could send two teams out to help support refugees inside Ukraine. The first team entered via the Romanian border at Suceava and were able to make a significant contribution to building up a camp in the Cathedral Square of Chernivtsi, a city of 300,000 already bulging with refugees. The team were brought vital practical help and expertise to the construction of the huge tents which form the basis of the centre. The camp is now able to provide emergency accommodation and support whilst feeding 1000 people per day. It has been a huge privilege to work with REMAR, with teams from Spain, Italy, Argentina, USA and more! Check out REMAR SOS.
The Donbas and recently liberated towns
This December, Mark and Paul were able to travel to the Donbas region where towns and villages have recently been liberated from Russian occupation. The devastation is graphic: whole towns destroyed with no buildings left intact; once thriving communities entierly devoid of life. The sense is one of desolation; a land in mourning. Nonetheless, people are returning and some never left. We were so inspired to see what some of the relatively young adults were doing to serve their own people - daily putting themselves in the firing line to evacuate those left living only metres away from the front line. For more on this, listen to Paul White's podcast: Escape from Bakhmut
We have run a short appeal (November and December 2022) to provide a newer vehicle for Mark Wade. We have now reached the target sum! A huge thanks to all those who have contributed.
All donations go directly to those working in the frontlines. It helps provide accomodation, food, medical supplies and anything needed to help and serve those who are displaced and seeking refuge at this time. The Prayerhouse teams have travelled at their own expense, or as directly sponsored by individuals.
Thank you for your generosity!
